Anantaya named among top 25 luxury hotels by TripAdvisor

Anantaya Resorts and Spa, the first luxury beach resort to the north of Colombo, has been named one of the ‘Top 25 Luxury Hotels – Sri Lanka’ by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site.

This is a significant accolade for Anantaya which is still within its first year of operation in a highly competitive industry. It is recognition of the rapid rise in popularity achieved by the hotel and the high standards maintained by the hotel management.

The hotel has been lauded for its prompt and personal service through TripAdvisor and its traveller reviews while it has also gained excellent ratings for its location, the standard of rooms, the value for money, cleanliness and sleep quality.

Situated 65km north of the Bandaranaike International Airport on the uncongested A3 highway, Anantaya was opened for business in 2014 by LAUGFS Leisure, the hospitality arm of LAUGFS Holdings. In addition to being situated en route to the Cultural Triangle, Anantaya is a mere 10 km away from the Anawilundawa Wetland, one of Sri Lanka’s Ramsar Wetland sites. The resort also arranges excursions to Wilpattu, the largest National Park in Sri Lanka, Kalpitiya, one of the best sites in the world for whale watching and many other interesting locations.

Anantaya lies on a narrow peninsula between the Indian Ocean and the Chilaw lagoon and is surrounded by an isolated beach and 15 acres of lagoon which is home to large stretches of mangroves filled with bird life. The luxury resort has 87 large and welcoming rooms, including Superior Rooms and Suites. All rooms offer a breathtaking dual view of the lagoon and the ocean, while the wide open garden spaces outside the rooms create a homely feeling for guests.
